Here is how this works in practice. We plan and set up the gear a production needs across its Croatian shoot, from camera, lens and lighting packages to grip, power packs, communications and pro rigs. Our team builds gear lists with the cinematographer and heads of department, sources gear from Croatian rental houses and brings in global kit where needed, and schedules deliveries around the shooting plan. We pay close attention to logistics: moving gear to island units on Hvar, Brac. Vis or Korcula depends on ferry capacity and timetables.

Here is the short of it. Tight historic locations such as Dubrovnik's Old City or Diocletian's Palace limit what can be rigged. We set up power, transport and storage, plan for Mediterranean heat and coastal conditions, and keep spares ready so a tech failure does not cost a shoot day.

Here is the breakdown. Gear planning in Croatia gains from the country's EU membership. Croatia joined the EU in 2013 and is part of the single market and, since 1 January 2023. The Schengen area, so intra-EU gear movement is straightforward and ATA Carnets handle gear arriving from outside the EU cleanly. Where shoots use radio gear, HAKOM covers RF range, and drone work falls under the Croatian Civil Aviation Agency and EU EASA rules. Both of which we factor into gear plans.
